2005 House Bill 819: State Funded Reinsurance of Small Employer Health Coverage
Introduced by Rep. Denise Dittrich DFL-, Rep. Barbara Goodwin DFL- and Rep. Paul Thissen DFL- on February 7, 2005
To allow health plan companies to receive reimbursement from the state for 90 percent of the payments made, less any third-party recoveries, for claims incurred in a calendar year for a qualifying enrollee for services that in aggregate exceed $30,000 but not of the payments that exceed $100,000. A process would be established to provide the state-funded reinsurance for small employer health coverage. An unspecified amount would be spent from the general fund in 2006 and 2007 for this state-funded reinsurance.   Official Text and Analysis.
